Lure of the Footlights the 10th episode of season 2 of Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties.

Plot

While pursuing a fleeing Snidely Whiplash, Dudley Do-Right follows him into a theater, where the crowd goes wild at the two men’s performance. The theater owner immediately hires the two, causing Dudley to go to Inspector Fenwick and resign from the Mounties. Meanwhile, back at Snidely’s hideout, Homer tries to talk Snidely out of it, when Snidely informs him that it is all just part of a clever plan.

Nell Fenwick attends the next performance, only to see that the new act involves Snidely asking jokes of Dudley, and then hitting him on the head with a giant mallet, or blowing him up with a bomb. Outraged, Nell charges onto the stage, and tells Dudley that he should return to the Mounties. Dudley refuses to give up show business, and the crowd goes wild, causing the theater owner to add Nell to the ensemble.

When Inspector Fenwick sees the name “Fenwick” on the marquis, he charges onto the stage, and the crowd loves his performance as well. Immediately, the Theater owner adds the Inspector to the troupe. The episode ends with each of the performers breaking into song; different songs of course. And the audience goes wild.
